Jesuit Alumni Conversation: Discernment

The goal of our collaboration proposal is

To bring together young people and Jesuits to discuss and deepen discernment

Description of our collaboration proposal

St. Ignatius of Loyola understood discernment as the awareness of God's help in making good decisions, even when we find ourselves motivated by contrary forces: some that bring us closer to God and others that distance us from his path. Anyone who has made a major decision knows this experience: we can be driven by both selfish and generous motives, by free and not so free reasons, by healthy motives and also by unhealthy ones... Discernment is the ability to see what those forces are; to be able to identify, weigh and choose the path most in line with God's desires for oneself and for the world.

The World Union of Jesuit Alumni/ae (WUJA) organizes a virtual meeting to reflect and discuss discernment, at a time when it is especially important to stay connected to the reality and mission of each one.

This virtual meeting will take place on Saturday, November 14, 2020, from 4 to 5 pm CEST (10 am EDT, 9 am CDT, 8 am MDT, 7 am PDT).
