Eco-Pilgrimage

The goal of our collaboration proposal is

to discuss climate change from a local and global perspective

Description of our collaboration proposal

Climate change is one of the global challenges that knows no borders and affects communities in all corners of the world. Threats must not only be addressed at the local level, but also have a component that affects us all. In 2021 and on the occasion of COP26, Ecojesuit held a virtual pilgrimage.

Therefore, the youth wing of WUJA (World Union of Jesuit Alumni) has convened a virtual eco-pilgrimage through six events to address the challenges of climate change from both a local and global perspective.

This virtual eco-pilgrimage will take place during the first half of 2022 and will have stops in Poland, Indonesia, India, Democratic Republic of Congo, Brazil and the United States, ending in Barcelona (Spain) on the occasion of the 10th World Congress of Jesuit Alumni to be held in July. At each stop, the main environmental concerns of each part of the planet will be heard and attendees will be able to share their impressions and make proposals.

Needs, support or request

Alumni are invited to participate in these regional meetings, especially in events held in their region, to share and exchange ideas related to climate change.

More information can be found on the WUJA Facebook page, where those interested can find the presentation webinar held on 29 January.
