Father Stan Swamy SJ, an 83-year-old Jesuit from India, is still unjustly detained. Help us to get the messages of claim to all possible people. Let’s go trending!

As have been told in other articles, The Society of Jesus around the world is mobilizing to demand the release of the 83-year-old Jesuit veteran unjustly detained for his human rights activism in Ranchi. In the wake of all this, the web page Stand With Stan has been created, which gathers all the information about the case, the news, and the initiatives of hundreds of people who are supporting this cause.

We know that in this era of connectivity, the buzz that can be generated in social media can be very useful to get this message to the greatest number of people. Thus, the Let’s go trending movement is underway, which with the hashtag #standwithstan encourages everyone to publish, replicate and share content related to the case of Jesuit Stan.

That is what you can do:

  1. Use your social media. We encourage people to use these platforms as much as possible: Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Whatsapp, Youtube. Use the hashtag #standwithstan
  1. Write articles, poems, blogs, slogans, quotes. Do feel free to write articles and post your opinions on your personal or institution blogs and websites. Remember to use keywords (including but not limited to “jesuits, jcsa, Fr Stan, tribals, bhima koregaon, Society of Jesus, Jesuits in India, Jesuits in Asia, etc.”), they help in Search Engine Optimization. Use the hashtag #standwithstan.
  1. Create memes, cartoons, music, videos, digital art. Please, remember to use the hashtag #standwithstan while posting your content online. Do send a copy to director@jciado.org
