From October 21-23, 2021, coordinated by the International Union Superiors General and organized by the Nazareth Global Education team, an international seminar on school transformation within the framework of the Global Education Compact was held with the participation of educational teams from religious congregations around the world.

Led by Montserrat del Pozo, Superior General of the Missionary Daughters of the Holy Family of Nazareth, the seminar offered an exceptionally important space, on a global scale, with the presence of multiple charisms and Church congregations, in which to discern the steps to be taken to address the need for a systemic transformation for sustainable innovation in order to generate a network to promote the Global Education Pact.

We worked in three stages (1) Explore and Reflect, (2) Change, (3) Global Compact.

  1. Time to explore and reflect. Based on the 7 commitments of Pope Francis at the Global Compact On Education meeting in October 2020 and taking into account the Sustainable Development Goals, we explored areas of opportunity in four major areas: (a) curriculum, methodology, assessment, (b) role of the teacher and role of the student, (c) organization and (d) physical, digital and cultural spaces.
  2. Time for change. The aim was to design the change process necessary for the solutions proposed in the previous step to become a reality.
  3. Time for global compact. Where we worked on the transition from hierarchy to network, deepening in the necessary and possible commitments to generate the network that drives the Global Compact for Education.

Special mention should be made of the third session very focused on network building, which used part of the conceptualization and materials of the Jesuit.Network project as well as the document “Prophetic Networks for a Universal Mission” developed after our 2018 congress.
