The name, inspired by a Guaraní word “Arandú” is a virtual training space inspired by the needs of the communications teams of the different provinces of Latin America and the Caribbean. This is an initiative of the Network of Provincial Communications Offices (RED OPC) of the Conference of Jesuit Provincials of Latin America and the Caribbean (CPAL). “Arandú” was born in 2019, after a work of the members of the Network to diagnose the needs of the different provincial communication teams.
In one of them, “Arandú” is understood as the search for wisdom and universal knowledge. It is the joy found in learning as a path, a path that, fortunately, never ends. Seen from our Ignatian spirituality, this word invites a surrender in our service, a commitment to a greater good beyond ourselves.
Since 2019, to date, Arandú has held 12 workshops, worked from an Ignatian perspective and whose themes have sought to respond to the needs of TPOs. Among them:
- “Give us today our daily plan”: on drafting and designing communication plans.
- “Don’t Bear False Witness – Fake News”.
- “Entangled”: challenges for organisational communication.
- “Design for non-designers”: tips to keep in mind when designing.
- “In times of crisis, what do we tell the press?”: information management during an institutional crisis.
- “Communication straight to the heart”: on what and how we share our information.
- “Blessed Creativity”: reviewing our creative potential in the service of others.
Arandú invites all communicators and collaborators of the communication offices of Jesuit works, networks and Provinces to participate in its workshops. For more information, please contact the communication office of your province.
