The international event will take place in Seville, where the Loyola Andalucia University will be the host for its sister universities.
From September 12 to 15 , the FIBES conference center in Seville, Spain will host a meeting for Europe’s most important educators during the twenty-ninth annual conference of the European Association for International Education (EAIE), which will attract more than 5,500 people to the Andalusian capital, according to the organization’s estimates.
This international initiative was started as a non-profit project in 1989 with the aim of becoming a point of dialogue and shared work for higher education professionals and institutions. For almost a week, there will be information sessions, discussions, webinars, receptions and conferences that will be attended by universities from more than 85 countries.
On the occasion of this event in the Seville capital, Loyola Andalucia University has joined forces with the International Association of Jesuit Universities (IAJU), promoted by the General Secretariat of Higher Education of the Society of Jesus, led by Father Michael J. Garanzini SJ. This synergy, which promotes collaboration between centers of the Catholic organization is a perfect opportunity to exhibit the universality of the values of justice, dialogue and work at the service of others that inspires Ignatian education regardless of where it is imparted.

The IAJU seeks to create common lines of work and projects that involve the whole educational community of these organizations, from students and teachers to the administration. In addition, it is a collaborative tool shared between North American centers of all Jesuit universities in events such as the EAIE fair.
Because of the location in which this edition will take place, as well as the importance of this meeting, Loyola Andalucia University has become a host for its sister universities in the field of higher education, setting up a series of activities and simultaneous events to enrich the experience of those attending this congress.
The Director of International Relations of Loyola Andalucía, Borja Martín, is one of the few Spanish members of the EAIE Conference Program Committee. After a year of work on this initiative, he ensures that “the opportunity of having this conference in Seville is an incomparable framework to show the world the potential of Spanish and Andalusian higher education.” He adds that “specifically for Loyola and the International Association of Jesuit Universities, it is an exceptional opportunity to exhibit the differentiating elements of Jesuit education, which are a benchmark in the search for values of justice, development, sustainability and reconciliation.” Martín says “we have chosen as a slogan a classic phrase used since the days of St. Ignatius that has always been a maxim of the Society of Jesus: ‘The world is our home’” .
