Student-teacher interviews on global citizenship issues

The goal of our collaboration proposal is

To connect teachers and students from around the world to share experiences on global citizenship

Description of our collaboration proposal

As many of us continue to teach and learn from home, wary that students may be struggling with motivation, we are looking for new ways to engage our students and provide them with exciting and inspiring learning experiences.

This global Educate Magis project connects students and teachers from different countries, with different realities and experiences, to broaden their horizons and learn together about global citizenship issues (ecology, racism, migration...).

To this end, the students prepare their questions in advance, doing some research on the country of the person whom they will be interviewing and the topic they have chosen, and send the questions to the teacher before connecting.

Through Educate Magis' Connected Classrooms, students have the opportunity to ask these questions via video call to another teacher. This allows students to learn from the real-life experience of another teacher, and the teacher to learn from students in another part of the world, broadening their own perspectives and ideas. It is an ongoing project and some interviews have already been conducted, so you can read about the experience of some teachers and students here

Needs, support or request

It's your turn!

If, as a teacher, you are interested in answering an interview for students in another part of the world; or you would like your students to have the opportunity to interview someone in another country, write to Educate Magis and participate.

You and your students will be able to broaden your perspective on global citizenship issues that you discuss and learn about in class from your own perspective.
