Laudato Si’ Action Plan: Protecting Our Planet

Since the publication of the encyclical Laudato Si' by Pope Francis in 2015, the Church has put the spotlight on the need to care for planet Earth as the common home of us all. As a consequence, the Laudato Si' Action Platform, formed by Catholic organisations with the collaboration of the Vatican, was launched in autumn 2021.

The Laudato Si' Action Platform seeks to achieve goals in seven areas: responding to the cry of the Earth, responding to the cry of the poor, ecological economics, adopting sustainable lifestyles, ecological education, ecological spirituality and community empowerment. To this end, the Jesuit Conference of Canada and the United States has launched seven-year Laudato Si' Action Plans in which communities will seek to meet the goals set by developing different actions in favour of the protection of our planet.
