Guide “Paths of Coexistence”

The goal of our collaboration proposal is

to analyse the situation of the migrant population in order to advance measures to promote coexistence

Description of our collaboration proposal

Last January saw the presentation of the Guide to local integration "Paths of Coexistence", produced by the Institute for Migration Studies at Comillas and the Secretary of State for Migration with the collaboration of UNIJES and the Jesuit Migrant Service. This guide aims to analyse the situation of the population of immigrant origin in Spain and to find ways for their integration into society.

The guide defines five challenges for the integration of the population in local spaces: eliminating the gaps of social and ethnic inequality, managing the growing ethnic diversity, guaranteeing the integration of the children of migrants, achieving the participation of the entire population in local life and changing perceptions about migration.

This guide highlights the important issue of the need for integration and how inter-organisational collaboration is possible to achieve the objectives, as this document has allowed.
