Essay contest on Human Rights in Latin America

To encourage study, analysis and reflection on human rights in Latin America

Description of our collaboration proposal

The Human Rights Working Group of the Association of Universities entrusted to the Society of Jesus in Latin America (AUSJAL), in conjunction with the Inter-American Institute of Human Rights (IIDH), is calling for the 2021 essay contest on human rights.

 

The theme for the 2021 contest is "Democracy and the Rule of Law during pandemic". From this theme, participants are free to choose the sub-theme of their interest. The following are examples, but not limited to:

- Access to education

- Corruption and the state response

- Political participation and institutionality

- People in conditions of vulnerability

- Situation of ESCR in the face of the pandemic

 

The competition is open to undergraduate students enrolled in any of the universities that belong to the AUSJAL Human Rights Group (all information here).

 

Needs, support or request

Participate! Essays must be submitted by 31 July 2021.
