Description of our collaboration proposal

In the framework of the 5th International Seminar on Societies and Borders at the Federal University of Roraima, the International Federation of Fe y Alegría, through the Integral Ecology Initiative and Panamazonia, launched the Collection of documents on Indigenous Migrants' Itineraries.

Who participated?

The event was attended by the authorities of the Federal University of Roraima represented by the Rector, Prof. Dr. José Gerardo Tidaneli, Prof. Dr. Marcos Vital, Rector of Research and Postgraduate Studies, Prof. Dr. Ana Lúcia de Souza, Coordinator of the Postgraduate Programme in Societies and Borders, who constituted the opening table of the seminar.

Once the start of the programmed activities had been formalised with the rector's words, the presentation of our collection of documents took place. The table was made up of José Romero Blanco, coordinator of the Fé e Alegria Unidade Roraima Foundation; Prof. Dra. Márcia Maria de Oliveira, from the Grupo de Estudios Interdisciplinar em Fronteiras: processos sociais e simbólicos (GEIFRON); Prof. Maxim Repetto, coordinator of the Programa Laboratórios Socionaturais Vivos and Marielys Briceño, from the Fundação Fé e Alegria Unidade Roraima and participant in the postgraduate programme. This table also had the honour of being integrated by Leany Torres, aidama Warao and virtually Professor Alberto Conejerto, an indigenous E'ñepá.

In the room were present part of the master students of the programme, the faculty of the post-graduation programme, other programmes and undergraduate courses. We were honoured by the presence of some of the Warao and E'ñepá indigenous people who participated in our activities and with whom we are immensely grateful for each and every one of the moments shared, without doubt each meeting is an opportunity for much learning.

The activity was broadcast on the Facebook channel of the International Federation of Fe y Alegría and is available for those interested. The materials that are part of the collection are available on the website of the Integral Ecology Initiative and Panamazonia through here

The photographs of the activities will be permanently exhibited in the following locations: 1.) Sítio Águas Boas da Diócesis de Roraima, 2.) Centro Social Liberdade and 3. Programa de Pós-graduação em Fronteiras e Integração.

The work of Fe y Alegría for the consolidation of the integral ecology network

During the event, the importance of establishing cooperation agreements between academia and organisations such as the Fe y Alegría Foundation, always concerned with educational processes and with an important focus on Venezuelan migration in this region of the country, was highlighted.
