Accompanying the Spiritual Exercises at a distance

The goal of our collaboration proposal is

To help accompany the Spiritual Exercises at a distance

Description of our collaboration proposal

This exceptional situation has spurred the spiritual quest of many people, which in turn has motivated creativity in accompanying the Spiritual Exercises. In generous response, many men and women have joined centers of Ignatian spirituality to accompany various adaptations of the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius of Loyola.

The Conference of Jesuit Provincials of Latin America and the Caribbean (CPAL), with the collaboration of CLACIES, has published a brief guide for accompaniers which can be consulted here [Spanish] and for which they indicate:

- These guidelines deal only with distance accompaniment and not with accompaniment in general.

- They are intended for accompanying exercises and not for giving them. Although they could be useful, they are not especially designed for those who wish to organize and lead the Exercises.

- The formulation distance, rather than online, is used because they are intended to include telephonic means, for example, for which the term online might be inaccurate.

- Finally, they are to be used as guidance, not as rules.

Here you can find all the information provided by CPAL.
