The declared global pandemic situation due to COVID19 presents unprecedented threads that require a global response up to the sign of the times and the challenges we are facing.
In this regard, the Society of Jesus is uniting efforts of all its social institutions under the leadership of the Social Justice and Ecology Secretariat, Fe y Alegría and the Jesuit Refugee Service, in order to share and listen to one another about the CoVid19 crisis situation in various countries, in the Conferences and networks.
To this end, just a few weeks ago, the Xavier Network Emergency Team formed a working group in charge of designing a survey to collect detailed and up-to-date information from all Jesuit social organizations.
This survey aims to be a living tool that, through biweekly updates, facilitates the collection of information that allows not only contextual analysis, but also strategic reflection and discernment.
The first survey, carried out two weeks ago, has offered an enormous quantity of qualitative and quantitative data on the current situation of each region and organization, which have been systematized and shared with the different stakeholders. Here you have a brief summary of the outcomes. All the info is centralized and disseminated through a dedicated data-center at covid.xavier.network
This report is a first approach to the information available so the aggregate data is tentative. Detailed analysis at regional and network level is recommended. However, this report wants to be a first step in the coordination effort for networking, getting further and accompanying to better serve those who need it most.
The Jesuit.Network project is was launched in 2012 to promote reflection on the topic of networking and to accompany and foster international collaborative initiatives within the Society of Jesus and the Ignatian Family.
