A new meeting of the Kircher Network, the association of Jesuit university institutions in Europe and Lebanon, took place in Innsbruck between 7 and 9 July.

During the meeting, the topics of the universal apostolic preferences of the Society of Jesus and the advances and projects of the International Association of Jesuit Universities (IAJU) were discussed. Projects underway, such as the Higher Education for Social Transformation (HEST), were also evaluated, and the roadmap of the association for the coming years was raised.

More than 50 attendees from different countries participated in the Kircher Network (Poland, UK, Belgium, Lebanon, Italy, Spain, France, Austria, Germany, Portugal, Ireland, Croatia, etc.) and was attended by the president of the IAJU, Michael Garanzini sj, of the advisor of the Father General for discernment and apostolic planning, John Dardis sj, as well as of the president of the European Conference of Provincials of Europe, Frank Janin sj. On behalf of UNIJES, its delegates, the 3 rectors of Deusto, Comillas and Loyola Andalucía, as well as leaders of ESADE, IQS, the Faculty of Tourism and Hotel Management Sant Ignasi – HTSI and the Faculty of Theology of Granada attended.

The Kircher Network brings together European and Lebanon university institutions such as the universities of Comillas, Deusto, Loyola Andalucía (of Spain), the Gregorian of Rome or that of Namur in Belgium, as well as numerous higher centers of Theology and Philosophy. Finally, it is worth mentioning the incorporation of Dr. Carlos Losada, next delegate of UNIJES in the Steering Committe of the Kircher Network, replacing Fr. Jaime Oraá SJ.
