From the 9th to the 12th of July, the University of Deusto will be hosting the founding assembly of the International Association of Jesuit Universities (IAJU), the official network of higher education of the Society of Jesus. Chaired by the Fr. General of the Society of Jesus, Arturo Sosa SJ, more than 300 rectors and leaders of the main Jesuit universities and colleges of the world will meet under the motto “Transforming Our World Together”, in order to explore the strategic priorities for the network and its institutions.

The event will feature keynote speakers, such as Cardinal Gianfranco Ravasi, Cardinal Giuseppe Versaldi, Pankaj Mishra and Gaël Giraud SJ. During the meeting resolutions for the new governing board of IAJU will be discussed and new possibilities for collaboration between universities, regional networks and the international association itself will be analysed. There will also be moments of great symbolic significance, such as the signing and constitution of the new IAJU network in the Loyola Sanctuary.

Join us in this university initiative in favor of faith, justice and reconciliation for a world desperately in need of them. We invite you to receive information of the IAJU 2018 Assembly, visiting the assembly’s website and subscribing to IAJU’s daily bulletin. During the celebration of the assembly, at the end of each day you will receive news and multimedia content.

If you are interested in Jesuit universities and the intellectual apostolate of the Society of Jesus, follow this important event closely!
