Numerous countries as well as the African Union and European Union are responding to the crisis. As well, a number of international aid agencies and international bodies like the United Nations and World Food Program have launched emergency assistance. The Catholic Church, through Caritas and local Catholic Commissions for Justice and Peace, is responding with humanitarian assistance.

From the Society of Jesus, many jesuit provinces and organizations have launched emergency appeals in response to the Cyclone Idai. Here you have current 8 jesuit calls for donations from UK, Austria, Germany, Portugal, Spain, Canada, Italy and USA:

Jesuit Relief Fund (Mozambique, Zimbabwe and Malawi)

Jesuit Missions (UK)

Jesuit Mission (Austria)

Jesuit Mission (Germany)

Gonzalo da Silveira (Portugal)

Entreculturas (Spain)

Jesuit Canada International (Canada)

Magis (Italia)

JRS (USA).

if you know of any other emergency appeal from a jesuit institution,
please let us know at [email protected]

Jesuits in Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Zambia and South Africa have initiated emergency and recovery appeals. Donation drop-off points have been set up in Harare and Johannesburg. Through the Jesuit Relief Fund of the Jesuit Province of Zimbabwe-Mozambique, the first batch of aid, including food, clothing and blankets, has already been sent to Chimanimani in Zimbabwe.

Last week, Agbonkhianmeghe E. Orobator SJ, President of the Jesuit Conference of Africa and Madagascar has issued an statement of support, and Anold Moyo SJ, from Silveira House have also reported from Harare on the emergency situation.
