Last 21 to 25 June, Dominican Republic hosted the Joint Conference by  FLACSI and the  Network of Jesuit schools in North America – JSN, in the city of Santo Domingo.
In an effort to address common challenges for our schools from a continental perspective , this conference aimed to further progress in developing common initiatives and actions to impact education on the continent and in which participants moved on mutual understanding, exploring collaboration scenarios and defining a common agenda.
“Working together networking will generate a greater impact nationally, regionally and we will unite as a continent”says FLACSI President Hugo Moreno, SJ.
“For FLACSI has been very important because it is how we can generate increasing impact on issues in which we are involved and we have a big responsibility,” he continued.
Within the worked themes include the  promotion of the identity of the educational proposal of the Society of Jesus, leadership training, reflections against the central elements of our exchange programs and joint actions to promote social justice, ecological awareness and solidarity with migrants from the Schools of the Society of Jesus in America.
“The scope of joint work between our two networks can range from the exchange of meaningful experiences, to constantly communicate what is being done in each of our provinces , through the Leadership Ignatian and opportunities for knowledge and interaction , ” says Bill Muller, SJ President of the Network of Jesuit schools in North America – JSN.
“Our agenda is the agenda of Jesus and the agenda of the Church,” he continues.
With this type of experience is expected to continue contributing to l growth and consolidation of networking among our networks and schools to continue to encourage our recognition as a universal body.
“As we unite, we project and create awareness of being part and contribute to this Global Education Network we have in the Society of Jesus , ” says Felipe Carrillo, Executive Secretary of FLACSI.
“Language has not been a limiting work, which validates the importance of networks have to be actors to build bridges of this great network , ” he concludes.
