Under the umbrella of the Secretariat of Social Justice and Ecology, the Ignatian Familiy is organizing a Global Ignatian Prayer Vigil for the Season of Creation. It will take place on the youtube channel of the Jesuit Curia on September 25 at three different moments at 8 PM in Manila, Rome and New York time.
I am from BAKA community, from the Territory of Yahuma
in the Province of Tshopo. It is a community leaving in deep in the forest and
dependent on the forest, in the middle of the equatorial forest. Our community
is threatened by the loss of their lands, land expropriation, by the Bantu
neighbors, forest companies, mining companies, and others seeking natural
resources (Mom Dorothee, Congo Basin)
The Congo
Basin, the Amazon and the Asian forests are the lungs of our world. They struggle to breathe. Today they are
literally and figuratively on fire. Under
the umbrella of the Social Justice and Ecology Secretariat, as part of #SeasonOfCreation,
the Ignatian family is organizing a Global
Prayer Vigil to pray for ecological conversion and action for justice. The
vigil will feature testimonies, reflections of the people and communities
directly affected combined with symbolic and interactive moments.
It will take place on September 25 at 8.00 pm (Manila, Rome, New York) in these three time
zones and will be broadcasted live through the Jesuit Global You tube channel inSpanish and English
